We started out in the late 70’s as a ‘boutique’ paint company working with architects and interior designers. As we progressed, we started to do consulting with just color and then on to textiles, hard surfaces and fixtures. In 1987, we were certified and learned the craft of Venetian plaster from actual Italian tradesmen. We introduced this unique surface coating to our clients and it was huge hit! We also incorporate faux paint and murals into our business.
In the mid 90’s, our focus moved to the restoration business, mainly because we lived in Long Beach, CA. The area is famous for its effort at preserving classic homes, many of which required restoration on multiple levels.
Over the years, we’ve evolved into an architectural design firm that encompasses just about any phase of home improvement, including remodeling and construction of new homes. We specialize in custom crafted kitchens and bathrooms specific to the customer’s needs and wants.
We treat every project as if it were our own home. In our line of work, the unexpected is the norm. We start by asking ourselves and our vendors: “if this were your home, how would you remedy the situation?” While we do prepare for the worst, we work diligently to tilt the odds so that the best results are obtained.
In our industry, there’s always things improving and new trends developing. There is a consistent growth factor, so we stay up to date. It’s a unique field, really, since it’s got both practical and artistic elements. Not only is professional growth linked to study and on and off-site work experience, it also has elements of artistic traditions. We aren’t slapping paint on a wall. We’re creating an environment unique to the home and its owner.
Communication is an extremely important factor . From the beginning, we ask questions to find out what the client truly wants and then we make sure we meet those requirements. Keeping the client in the loop with vendors and suppliers insures we’re all on the same page.
By maintaining high professional standards, we have been fortunate to receive the best compliment a customer can give: their personal referral.

Here’s how it all began…
My high school offered a work program that included painting. Since I could both earn credits and learn a trade, I took advantage of the opportunity. At the same time, my brother-in-law inherited his father’s paint business. Their family is European and employed traditional European techniques. From them, I learned color coordination and application techniques that had been passed down from generation to generation. Little did I know that my apprenticeship would introduce to me to another “Old World” master!
I married. My father-in-law was also a painter. His ancestry is Swedish, so once again I was being taught with European flair. He introduced me to even more “trade secrets” and custom applications. My brother-in-law and father-in-law taught me the importance of paying attention to details, no matter how small, because a project is all about the “details”.
By the late 70’s, I branched out on my own and started a ‘boutique’ paint company, working with architects and interior designers. In time, the business quite naturally progressed to consulting, at first with just color, then textiles, hard surfaces and fixtures. In 1987, we were certified and learned the craft of Venetian plaster from Italian tradesmen. This unique application, as well as faux paint and murals, proved to be a huge hit with customers.
In the mid 90’s, our focus moved to the restoration business, mainly because we live in Long Beach, CA. The area is famous for its effort at preserving classic homes, many of which required restoration on multiple levels.
Continuing the tradition of passing this unique artistry from generation to generation, my son has been with me since the late ‘90’s.
Over the years, we’ve evolved into an architectural design firm that encompasses just about any phase of home improvement, including remodeling and construction of new homes. We specialize in custom-crafted kitchens and bathrooms specific to the customer’s needs and wants.
What will the next years bring? “Green” is the big thing these days. We think of our environment more, and it’s encompassed on all levels in the home improvement arena, from appliances, building materials, and even paint.
We look forward to what the future years bring, because things are looking…well, very green!
